Local Right At Home agency has helped patients at Lexington Medical Centre to transition away from hospital.
In the US, the Columbia branch of the Right At Home care franchise has been providing a helping hand to patients who have recently left Lexington Medical Centre in South Carolina. By providing domestic care, the care franchise has reduced readmissions at the medical centre to 17 percent.
Before the partnership was launched, readmission rates at Lexington Medical Centre stood at 30 percent. Right At Home’s team of carers have helped over 500 patients to manage the transition from hospital to normal life. Patients with a number of different health problems - including heart failure and other chronic conditions - have benefited from the programme.
The Columbia Right At Home agency employs around 155 carers in the local area. They have all gained valuable experience working with a wide variety of health conditions by taking part in the programme.
Charles Brown, the owner of the Columbia Right At Home franchise, praised the “team effort” from Right At Home’s “caregivers on the ground”. This is also been a prolific partnership for Right At Home, stressed Charles: “When we’re associated with Lexington Medical Centre, which is a premier hospital in the state… it really helps a lot in terms of business”.
The Right At Home franchise was founded in the US and has its headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2010, the care franchise was brought to the UK by franchisee Ken Deary, who had witnessed the first-class care that Right At Home was providing in the US. Though the UK franchise began in Preston, it has since expanded across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The franchise is also looking to further grow its network by connecting with franchisees here on Point Franchise.
