Really Awesome Coffee franchisees provide important service

Really Awesome Coffee has been keeping people’s spirits up during the pandemic.
In an interview with The Telegraph, franchisee Corinne Mason described how she has been able to help local people by providing hot food and a quick chat. Despite only launching her coffee van franchise business in November 2020, she’s already been able to build up a following of loyal customers.
Corinne said,
“During the first lockdown in 2020, we had a van come to our street, and it seemed like a fabulous way to bring the coffee shops we were all missing directly to your door. The van visited every week and became a focal point where neighbours would come out, get a coffee and then have a chat – socially distanced of course!”
Corinne was inspired to set up her own franchise unit, and soon represented the Really Awesome Coffee brand in Rugby, Warwickshire. She explained,
“It had been a long-term dream of mine to own a coffee shop or an ice cream van and this brought the two concepts together. ”
The franchise’s business plan had proven popular long before the pandemic broke out, but the events of 2020 provided an opportunity to adapt and find a new audience. Whereas Really Awesome Coffee had focused on delivering hot food and drink to offices and industrial estates, it now stops off at housing estates, doctors surgeries and even vet clinics.
Plus, the franchise expanded its offering to provide essential items. Its Managing Director, Kevin Haswell, said,
“In the first lockdown some were doing essential food shops for elderly residents as well as selling coffee. One [van] was stocking essential goods, so as well as people being able to buy a cappuccino and sausage roll, they could buy toilet roll, too.”
Andy Baxter, who has a coffee van in Norwich, even visited his local ambulance station three times a day to make sure they had hot food and drinks.
