Really Awesome Coffee customer becomes franchisee

Really Awesome Coffee has welcomed one of its customers on board as a franchisee.
Corinne Mason was prompted to take part in one of the franchise’s virtual discovery days after visiting a Really Awesome Coffee van in June last year. She made a throwaway comment about wanting to run her own mobile cafe, which led her to take the plunge.
While Corinne was passionate about “serving decent coffee and brightening people’s days”, her finance-headed husband was satisfied with the figures they picked up at the initial discovery day.
During the training stage, Corinne was glad to get plenty of help setting up her coffee van franchise unit:
“It proved that even at my age I could do something awesome with the right support.”
She added,
“Laura, my FDM, has been a great supporter and encourager, and our days singing in the van during training were good fun! I was quite anxious about starting the business, but the support and encouragement has really helped me believe in myself.”
Although the initial novelty of running a coffee van has now worn off - and Corinne has endured freezing temperatures - she still enjoys making her customers happy:
“I have fabulous customers who brighten my day, as I hope I do theirs too.”
One of the highlights of Corinne’s journey so far has been inspiring a Daily Telegraph journalist to write about the rise of coffee deliveries. She’s remained a weekly customer and publishes regular Instagram posts about her experience.
Corrine said,
“You never know who you may be serving - put on a smile and make every drink your best one yet!”
Corinne also had one final piece of advice for prospective franchisees:
“Be generous - going above and beyond expectation will really make you stand out from the other options available in the area. Do the upgrades, give the free biscuits, forget the 10p they don’t have, give away a free drink when somebody needs it - those are the things that people remember and talk about, and that help to build your reputation and goodwill.”
