Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port opens

Radfield Home Care has launched a new branch covering Chester & Ellesmere Port, just south of Liverpool.

Husband-and-wife team, Kevin and Julie Scott, are set to open their branch in the summer. They’ve lived and worked overseas for the past decade, but were inspired by Julie’s mother’s experience of care and decided to return home and support their local community.

Julie explained,

“We want to be able to give something back to the community and get involved in making peoples’ lives better.”

She added,

“I was inspired by my mum who, at 50, decided to become a home care professional. I was inspired at what a difference she was making to peoples’ lives; sometimes she would be the only person they would see each day.

“My mum then needed personal care at home herself when she had a terminal illness and the people who came to help her were lovely and very professional.”

Before launching their home care business, Julie had worked in finance and childcare, and Kevin held a job in the oil and gas industry for 15 years. They lived with their two sons in the Middle East until they returned to Chester.

Their business will join Radfield Home Care’s network of units across the UK. The franchise is still growing, with a new branch set to launch in the Camberley, Farnborough and Fleet region, and further franchisees starting the training course soon.

The home care franchise’s founder and franchisor, Dr Hannah MacKechnie, said,

“We are delighted to welcome Julie and Kevin to the Radfield network.

“Julie is working with the support team to prepare the business for launch in the weeks ahead - recruiting their registered care manager, applying to the Care Quality Commission, beginning their early promotional activity and setting up their business structure.

“I look forward to seeing them begin trading, neighbouring the original Radfield business based in Shrewsbury.”
