Radfield Home Care branch gains Living Wage certificate

Radfield Home Care Milton Keynes has achieved an accreditation for paying its employees the ‘real living wage’.

While the government stipulates a minimum wage, which is currently £8.72 per hour for over-25s, the Living Wage Foundation recognises employers who pay their staff at least £9.50. The organisation calculates a realistic payment amount to reflect costs associated with living and supporting a family, as well as ongoing inflation rates.

Thanks to the Living Wage Foundation’s efforts, more than 250,000 workers have already received a pay rise, and their businesses have seen an increase in employee retention rates.

Radfield Home Care has always prioritised its staff and worked to support them. Previously, the care franchise has introduced its Caring For Carers Pledge, which includes fair wages, an employee recognition programme and a supportive working environment.

Jane Franks, the Director of the Milton Keynes care business, explained why the franchise unit had decided to pursue the accreditation:
