Premier Sport hosted the areas ‘largest ever’ floorball cup for schoolchildren in Farnham, Surrey.
Activity and sport franchise Premier Sport has hosted Surrey’s ‘largest ever’ floorball cup for 11 teams of enthusiastic school children.
The sport, which is similar to hockey, is a popular choice for children as it’s much easier to pick up and the tournament was a fantastic chance for children to test their skills.
Hosted by Premier Sport and Farnham Uni Hockey & Floorball Club, the event at Farnham leisure centre saw 29 matches being played in just two hours! Ultimately Rowledge Primary School scooped the top prize, but it was a close battle with 2nd place Walsh Primary School’s nipping at their heels. Walsh’s net minder showed incredible reaction times to see off plenty of close calls and in the end, a single goal was all that separated the two teams.
Premier Sport instructs many of the children in their PE lessons or after school clubs and floorball was chosen as an excellent sport for them as it’s a much easier version of hockey. Rowledge’s success was partly in thanks to Premier Sport, which runs an after-school floorball club for budding players in the school.
With a huge network of coaches delivering high-quality activities across the country, Premier Sport is one of the UK’s leading sport and activity franchises. Its aim is to inspire young people to get active, through a wide range of activities including rugby, gymnastics, archery, athletics and even orienteering. It runs lessons in schools, both during and after school and even offers summer camps for active kids to participate in.
Through its ‘make sport your business’ campaign, Premier Sport has attracted over 1000 coaches and over 150 franchise partners and is the only franchise in its sector to be a full member of the BFA.
