Premier Sport gives homeless addict a second chance

Premier Sport has given a young man another chance to make a success of himself.
Jordan Stolworthy was just 23 but already had nothing in his life. The young man from Great Yarmouth had found himself addicted to gambling and homeless and, coming from a bleak, poverty-stricken background, thought he had no chance of turning his life around. To make matters worse, he’d lost access to his precious young daughter and had no way of even providing for her.
Then, he discovered the Premier Foundation. The not-for-profit charity aims to support young people under 25, helping them get back into work and providing opportunities that will make their future bright. Now, Jordan is a popular activity professional with the sports and activity franchise, Premier Sport, thanks to the second chance the foundation gave him.
Jordan enrolled on the course and took part in weekly sessions which taught him and other lost young people vital skills that will help their mental health, employability and overall wellbeing. He was also able to connect with people and make new friends, as well as boosting his confidence which had taken a huge knock after becoming homeless.
A spokesman for the foundation said:
“[We] immediately recognised an enthusiasm and passion for sport in Jordan from these sessions and have supported him by funding his qualifications, which he completed in August 2017, to get to where he is now: an influential activity professional with Premier Sport. Throughout the course Jordan grew in confidence and he now has a completely different outlook on life. We are delighted with how Jordan has turned his life around and that as a result he is no longer homeless and is supporting his little girl, who he now has back in his life.”
Premier Sport is one of the UK’s largest sport and activity franchises, delivering more than 25,000 activity sessions every single month to schools up and down the country. The successful company is also the only sports franchise to have obtained full membership of the British Franchise Association.
