Poppies has been in business for a quarter of a century, and recently celebrated the impressive milestone.
Chris Wootton launched his domestic cleaning business on the 1st April 1996 and, since then, has developed a team of skilled staff who work across West Lancashire. Together, they deliver more than 2,500 hours of service every month.
Among the guests who celebrated with Chris at Poppies’ Ormskirk office were Rosie Cooper MP and some employees who had been with the business for over two decades.
Chris said,
“I’m thrilled to be celebrating my 25th year and sharing this milestone with staff who have been working with me for almost as long!”
He praised the dedication and courage of his team, particularly during the pandemic:
“It’s fair to say that if it weren’t for my dedicated team of 42 cleaners, I wouldn’t be celebrating here today. I have to extend a big thank you to everyone at Poppies for providing an exceptional service to all our customers in and around Ormskirk - their response to the challenges of the last 12 months has been nothing short of incredible.”
Like most business owners, Chris has put extra safety measures in place over the past year. Now, he’s looking forward to the summer, when he plans to celebrate the domestic cleaning franchise’s milestone properly.
Rosie Cooper MP explained why she believes Poppies has been so successful:
“Poppies is a great example of a local business that has shown how it can adapt, survive and thrive during these unprecedented times. Over the years, Chris has played a key role in boosting the local economy by creating employment opportunities for people in the area and providing a service to the heart of our community.
“Congratulations to Poppies and I wish you every success for the next 25 years!”
