Papa John’s has launched a Marmite stuffed crust pizza that you’ll either love or hate.

This isn’t the first time that Papa John’s has added an interesting special edition to keep the menu fresh and exciting. Last year, inspired by I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, the pizza franchise released a special edition ostrich pizza.

Now, Papa John’s has opted to put a spin on its classic pizza by adding a cheese and Marmite stuffed crust pizza, called the Marm-Gherita.

Papa John’s says: "The unique and scrumptious stuffed crust is a first for pizza restaurants across the UK (and the world) and recognises the great combination of both cheese and Marmite.

"The hidden delight at the very edge of the pizza sees Papa John’s fresh, pillowy dough hand rolled around gooey mozzarella and topped with a heavenly helping of Marmite."

If you hate marmite and always have, it’s unlikely this pizza will change your opinion, but if you’re curious, you can order your favourite pizza and select the Marmite crust as an additional option.

The special edition pizza will be introduced to all nationwide Papa John’s stores and online from the 25th of March until the 20th of May.

Liz Williams, Managing Director of Papa John’s said: “Following the huge success of our Marmite Scrolls earlier this year, we’re extremely excited to spread the partnership beyond our side menu and into the crusts of our popular pizzas.

“Ingredient innovation is at the core of our menu and we’re sure that the addition of Marmite to our cheesy crusts will be a huge hit.”

Lovers of the controversial, versatile sandwich spread are likely to already be aware of the fab combo that is cheese and marmite, whether they’ve enjoyed it on toast or in a sandwich. Therefore, where better than a tasty Papa John’s pizza to explore the marriage of flavours? So, if you have been tempted by the intriguing combination, head to your local Papa John’s and try the innovative food offering - coming in at an extra £2.50.
