OSCAR Pet Foods has been highlighting the success of the women within its franchise network.
Pet franchise OSCAR Pet Foods has been celebrating international women’s day by showcasing the success of its female franchisees. In its #balanceforbetter campaign, OSCAR called for a better gender balance across the world and encouraged other female entrepreneurs to follow in the footsteps of the 45 ladies who have become franchise partners of OSCAR and its sister brand, Leading the Way pet care.
The franchise shared what some of its fantastic women had to say about becoming an OSCAR or Leading the Way franchisee. OSCAR said that by joining a franchise, women are able to be in business for themselves and to reap the rewards of their hard work, but never feel isolated or alone.
Lucy Kyte, OSCAR Pet Foods franchisee, shared how she got her career started with the franchise.
“Although I'd had a long-term ambition to run my own business, I wanted it to be something different from my past career and something that I could combine with managing a young family. After looking at my options I could not have wished for a better opportunity. OSCAR enabled me to use my people skills and also my previous experience in customer services and hospitality, which tied in nicely with my qualification in event planning.”
Kyte added that she has felt fully supported during her franchising journey, even after the initial opening period.
“Having been given fantastic support to get started I have nothing but praise for OSCAR in making the whole learning process easy to follow. What's more, I have no worries as the backup advice and helplines are always open.”
Michelle Corrigan, Leading the Way’s Chorley franchisee, added:
‘Here was an opportunity to work flexibly at my own pace around precious family commitments, while indulging my life-long love of animals and enjoying a steady income from the rapidly expanding pet industry. Leading the Way’s support has been outstanding, going above and beyond. We have never experienced this kind of commitment, helping us through the early challenges of starting a new business with no previous experience."
