OSCAR Pet Foods’ sister company, Leading the Way pet care, welcomes first successful franchisee
After attending puppy training classes run by OSCAR’s pet behaviourist, Shelley Audis-Riddell, Michelle Corrigan became interested in the new franchise opportunity offered by Leading the Way pet care. She was given the chance to become Leading the Way’s pilot franchisee and accepted without hesitation.
Michelle and her husband Andy had grown tired of their exhausting jobs that didn’t pay well and saw the chance to run their own business as a fresh start. She says:
“Here was an opportunity to work flexibly, at my own pace, around precious family commitments, whilst indulging in my life-long love of animals and enjoying a steady income from the rapidly expanding pet industry.”
As word got out and her business began to grow Andy became involved with things, offering a helping hand with dog walking. A trained dog groomer, he was an asset to the franchise thanks to his calm temperament and expert knowledge of handling dogs, so he became part of the business full time. Now, the couple get to enjoy their days outside, making sure the pets they look after are getting plenty of exercise as well as staying fit themselves.
And, with its CERTA Accreditation and backing from successful pet food franchise OSCAR, Leading the Way is set to revolutionise the UK’s pet care industry with its evidence-based pet care service that complies with new animal licensing laws.
Michelle praised the support she’s received during her franchising journey and thanked Shelley and Leading the Way for making the opening a success.
"Leading the Way’s support has been outstanding, going above and beyond. We have never experienced this kind of commitment, helping us through the early challenges of starting a new business with no previous experience."
