Local mum of two Amy Phillpot will this month be launching Busylizzy in Balham, offering a weekly timetable of postnatal fitness and baby classes to mums in the Balham and Streatham areas.

As the current club owner of Busylizzy Clapham & Battersea, Amy had intended to launch into Balham much sooner but was prevented by the lockdowns brought about by Covid-19.

Operating out of Hot Yoga South close to Balham Station and St Thomas’ Church on Telford Avenue between Balham Station and Streatham Hill, the new club will start with a timetable of eight classes, including Baby Massage, Baby Music and Baby Yoga and a range of postnatal fitness classes that mums can come to with their babies. Amy will look to add pregnancy fitness to the service soon.

Busylizzy’s timetable of weekly classes offers the perfect combination of structure and flexibility for the modern family. Classes can be booked in advance or on the day via the Busylizzy App or online and cancelled up to two hours ahead of a session – essential when juggling pregnancy niggles and work or the effects of sleepless nights with a baby! Since all local memberships offer unlimited access to online platform Busylizzy Live, a class can also be completed from home on a day when getting out and about just isn’t an option.

“Our unique concept of being able to workout with your baby, tending to their needs at any time without fear of judgement, as well as taking part in baby classes as part of the same flexible membership has been so popular in Clapham. I’m really looking forward to being able to reach more mums with classes that are local to the Balham and Streatham areas and growing the Busylizzy family,” commented Amy.

“September feels like a great time to be opening our new club. It’s typically a busy time for the Busylizzy network as the family holiday season comes to an end, schools return, and mums start to get into a routine with their little ones again. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our trial classes,” she continued.

“It’s brilliant to be seeing our network of local clubs growing again after the uncertainty of Covid and the time we spent operating an online-only timetable,” said Busylizzy Founder Julie Clabby. “We have been able to launch another four new clubs since coming out of the last lockdown, which is great news for expectant and new mums looking to get out, get fit, make friends and have fun on maternity leave.”
