Mr Electric fixes customer’s solar panels after another company left him in the dark.

Mr. Electric Cornwall has saved one of its customers £1,000 and the misery of being without solar power after his previous installer went bust.

Philip Chaney, a homeowner in Perranporth, found himself out of pocket and unable to use his solar electricity panels after the most expensive part of the system, the inverter, stopped working. To his horror, the company that initially installed the system had gone bust, leaving him with a hefty bill and no warranty or insurance to cover it.

Thankfully, after getting in touch with his local Mr. Electric branch, the company’s professional and knowledgeable staff were able to help. After identifying the part and managing to track down the manufacturer, the electrical franchise was able to install the new part quickly and save Mr Chaney £1,000. Mr. Electric also gave Mr Chaney a 12-year warranty for the new part, saving him from future stress if the part was to malfunction again.

Mr Chaney expressed how thrilled he was with the service.

“I have been so impressed with Mr. Electric from their professionalism and expertise right through to their honesty and upfront advice. I had total trust in Neil, the Mr. Electric electrician, and never felt that he was trying to rip me off - unlike the other businesses I contacted – and it’s great to have my solar panels back working again, especially with the sunshine we have at the moment.”

He added that, should he have electrical problems in the future, he would immediately contact Mr. Electric as he trusts that the company would do a great job.

Steve Barlow, Mr. Electric Cornwall’s Director, explained that the problems Mr Chaney experienced are becoming far too common.

“It has been a huge pleasure to help our customer Philip Chaney get back on the grid again. Sadly, there are too many people who have experienced similar incidents with companies who cease trading, but it is unacceptable to not register parts for warranty as it is always the customer who suffers in the end. Installing solar energy is a key part of our business in Cornwall so we are delighted to have another happy customer.”

With over 200 locations worldwide and 20 years’ experience in all things electrical, Mr. Electric provide expert solutions to a wide range of electrical maintenance, installation and energy saving concerns.
