Mr. Electric partners with Low Carbon Workspaces to help businesses become EV friendly.

Mr. Electric is encouraging businesses in the Black Country to apply for electric vehicle (EV) funding before the Brexit deadline. The advice is echoed by Low Carbon Workspaces, who offers grants funded through the European Regional Development Fund to aid the purchase of new and used EVs.

Mr. Electric provides simple and cost-effective methods of installing EV charging points in the workplace. As the UK’s leading electrical franchise brand, Mr. Electric is also an authorised installer from the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and is aiding commercial customers in their applications for the Workplace Charging Scheme grants. Customers in the Black Country can receive up to £300 per socket for their business properties and an additional grant of up to £5,000 for SME businesses to include electric and plug-in hybrid electric fleet vehicles.

Low Carbon Workspaces, provided by Ngage Solutions, is working in collaboration with Mr. Electric to encourage businesses to take up these grants to help them save money and the environment by reducing their fuel usage.

Jeff Longley, Director of Mr. Electric Birmingham North, explains how important it is for businesses to switch to electric vehicles. “An automotive revolution is happening across the UK, led by a huge increase in popularity for electric vehicles - the number of EVs on our roads has risen 20-fold over the past three years alone. We also have a corporate social responsibility towards the environment, and as we move into the future, we fully support the growing demand for sustainable green transport technology and aim to be at the forefront of this sector. We encourage businesses to take advantage of the funding now as it is only available for a limited time. Let’s embrace these emerging technologies together.”

Daniel Cope, Project Officer – Black Country for Ngage Solutions Ltd, urged Mr. Electric’s customers not to miss out on this opportunity. “Moving to electric vehicles has many benefits, and the addition of this grant has made the business case for EVs greater than ever. The grants are proving a real hit, and with the imminent arrival of Brexit, businesses should take advantage of this funding now.”
