Metro Rod South Yorkshire goes up for sale

Metro Rod’s South Yorkshire franchisee is retiring after two decades of ownership and selling their business on.
The drainage franchise unit has been performing well since the owner bought it in 2000, and has been edging closer to a £1 million turnover in the past few years. Having decided to retire, the current franchisee is selling the business for £350,000 plus the value of its assets.
The unit has a team of 13 staff members; seven drainage engineers (two senior and five general), as well as two general assistants, one tanker driver and three office workers. It also benefits from two pick-up vehicles, two Peugeot boxer vans, one Volkswagen Caddy and one full-size Jet Vac Tanker.
As a Metro Rod franchisee, the new owner will be able to benefit from the franchise’s 24/7 call centre and national support system. Plus, they’ll have the chance to take over the unit’s lease on its fully furnished office.
The South Yorkshire territory covers a population of around 1.6 million people and more than 46,000 businesses, so there’s plenty of scope for growth in the area. According to the franchise, the new investor can expect to generate a fair amount of income through contracts with organisations in the hospitality, retail and commercial sectors.
The previous franchisee worked with a number of well-known companies, thanks to Metro Rod’s existing national accounts. Currently, around 80 percent of the unit’s sales come through these agreements, while 17 percent are made up of commercial jobs and the remaining three percent are domestic call-outs.
If you’re looking for a franchise opening in the Yorkshire region and would like to take advantage of Metro Rod’s supportive business model, this opportunity could be right for you. Get in touch with the brand to find out more about the resale offer.
