Metro Rod’s parent company celebrates a decade of success

The group behind Metro Rod is celebrating 10 years of success with some of the UK’s most successful franchises.

Franchise Brands PLC, the international franchisor behind successful UK franchises including Metro Rod, is celebrating its 10th year of business. The group has more than 450 franchisees that operate in 12 countries under its five brands: Metro Rod, Metro Plumb, ChipsAway, Ovenclean and Barking Mad.

The group was set up 10 years ago and allows its franchises to benefit from each other by sharing the same head office support teams. It acquired Metro Rod in 2017 and although the drain cleaning franchise had already experienced success under its own steam, it’s gone from strength to strength under the guidance of Franchise Brands.

Executive Chairman, Stephen Hemsley, said:

Franchise Brands recently added to the Metro family by awarding its first independent franchise license for a dedicated Metro Plumb franchise. It’s a testament to the leadership of the group, as it’s been able to help Metro develop a previously small subdivision of its business into a profitable independent venture of its own.
