Metro Rod held a motivational mid-year conference for all of its franchisees and support staff in the centre of Manchester.
More than 100 delegates gathered at the luxurious 5* Lowry Hotel in Manchester for Metro Rod’s mid-year motivational conference. The conference’s theme of ‘What Makes a Difference’ focused on the achievements of the franchise’s network of drainage and plumbing experts and looked at ways they can continue to succeed in the future.
The drainage franchise’s 40+ franchisees and team of support and head office staff attended the fun event, which gave them a chance to catch up on the latest news within the business and share best practice tips with other franchisees.
Executive Chairman of parent group Franchise Brands, Stephen Hemsley, addressed attendees first by talking about the Group’s continued commitment to investment and automation. Next up, Managing Director of Metro Rod, Peter Molloy, delivered an inspirational speech that encouraged all franchisees to seize the opportunity for growth.
“We are increasing market share with more engineers than ever before and new franchisees joining the system. 15 franchisees (36 percent) now have sales in excess of £1m.There is a tremendous amount of support available and huge investment in industry-leading systems and technology.”
Colin Rees, Chief Information Officer, and Chris Dent, Chief Financial Officer, teamed up to update franchisees on Metro Rod (and Plumb)’s IT vision and commitment to ongoing support and mentoring for all franchisees. Marketing Director, Robin Auld, emphasised how franchisees can utilise the power of national and local marketing efforts to make attract a larger customer base.
To finish the fun event, everyone sat down to watch a video that was produced by Franchise brands. It featured everyone from local employees of Metro Rod and Metro Plumb locations right up to members of the Franchise Brands board singing along to Queen’s classic ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’. It emphasised the message of the day: that its franchisees should never stop looking for new ways to grow their business.
Speaking about Metro Rod’s franchise opportunity, Franchise Recruitment Manager, Tracey Ball, said:
“There has never been a better time to join Metro Rod. We are seeing so many exciting developments in our business, firmly establishing us [as] the UK’s market leader in commercial drainage. Our impressive achievements and growth are due to the combined efforts of our motivated franchisees and our dedicated Support Centre teams, along with the investment of Franchise Brands plc.”
