Metro Rod gives back to the community

Metro Rod West Yorkshire honoured the spirit of the festive season by giving back to its local community in different ways.
Many people say that the true meaning of Christmas is giving back to those less fortunate. Metro Rod West Yorkshire went above and beyond to embody this during Christmas 2019, as it held a number of events to raise money for those in its local community.
First up was Christmas Jumper Day 2019, which was held on the 13th of December. To make it as easy as possible for its team to donate, the enterprising team set up a team text code (TEAMMETROROD) which would donate £2 to the chosen charity. In return, everyone got to put on their favourite festive jumper, which ranged from tasteful to tacky, and get into the Christmas spirit.
The branch of the drainage franchise also organised a food bank collection to make sure that the most impoverished people across West Yorkshire had enough to eat over the notoriously expensive festive period. Local charity, The Welcome Centre, gave out nearly 24,000 meals to those in need across 2018, so Metro Rod wanted to make sure that it was well stocked to continue its excellent work across December and into 2020.
Finally, Metro Rod West Yorkshire’s engineers were on call across the festive period to help people across the area affected by drain problems. Whether a burst pipe struck that threatened to ruin Christmas Day or a blocked drain was putting a dampener on festive relaxation, one call to its 24/7 emergency team quickly put things right for homeowners and businesses across Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford and Huddersfield.
