Metro Rod expands its services

Metro Rod’s parent group has acquired a brand new business which will help it expand the services it offers to customers.
Franchise Brands Executive Chairman Stephen Hemsley recently made it known that he was keen to acquire a new business that would complement the services offered by Metro Rod. So, the acquisition of a brand new company that can do just that is great news for the Franchise Brands group.
Metro Rod’s services will now be complemented by another brand that’s been recently acquired by Franchise Brands. Willow Pumps, which offers a complete water pump supply, installation and servicing solution to businesses across the UK, is now part of the group and will work in tandem with the drainage franchise.
The profitable business recorded a before tax profit of £1.1million in 2018, showing that is has plenty of potential for success. It was purchased for a recorded fee of £5 million.
Willow Pumps first location in England is due to open shortly in the Lincoln area, while its first Northern Irish facility opened for business last week. Its hoped that the newly acquired business will soon expand its presence across the country to become a leading service brand in the same vein as Metro Rod. Franchise Brands’ long-term goal is to bring the two companies together so that clients can access a complete ‘water in, water out’ range of drainage and plumbing related services.
Metro Rod offers a complete drainage service to both commercial and domestic customers across the UK. It has a network of 40 franchisees operating up and down the country but it’s on the lookout for new franchisees who can help it expand even further to new territories. Operating since 1983, Metro Rod has built a strong reputation for excellence and is a trusted name in the drainage industry.
