Metro Rod hosted its annual conference and awards ceremony to share and celebrate the best in the business.
Franchisees and head office staff at Metro Rod came together last weekend for the drain cleaning franchise’s annual conference and awards ceremony. Held at the luxury Celtic Manor Resort, the highly-anticipated event celebrated the brightest sparks within the company and shared exciting news of upcoming growth and development.
Franchisees were able to explore the large expo hall, which let them see industry leading suppliers and sponsors including iTouch systems, which is the leading provider of CCTV inspection and reporting solutions.
Peter Molloy, Managing Director at Metro Rod shared just some of the things that the company celebrated during the conference, saying he hopes everyone from franchisees to senior staff can look forward to an “exciting future.”
“Metro Rod has experienced tremendous growth over the past year since the launch of our “Vision 2023” strategy. Nearly 80% of our franchisees have experienced sales growth and a number have enjoyed very substantial levels of growth. This is testament to the passion, hard work and commitment of our franchisees and their dedication in providing a first-class customer experience. It also reflects the substantial support we provide them with on a daily basis.”
He also explained that the theme of the conference was “focused on what makes a difference”, emphasising small things like first-class customer service and operational excellence make a big difference to customer service. Molloy also said that the conference made sure to highlight the efforts of Metro Rod’s engineers, who are on hand to serve customers 24/7.
Some of the exciting developments to be revealed included the substantial investment that parent company Franchise Brands PLC is making to improve digital and online systems for Metro Rod’s franchisees. Craig Henthorn, Marketing and Sales Director also revealed that impressive results have already been seen from the company’s new integrated marketing and sales strategy, which was only launched earlier this year and said that there has been record-breaking lead generation for new business throughout the year.
Molloy also congratulated the rise of the Metro Rod Plumb business, which has been run alongside drainage operations by franchisees since 2016. He welcomed the first dedicated plumbing franchisees, Riaz Contractor and Josh Crofts, to the business and said that he looked forward to welcoming more independent plumbing franchises.
Winners of the coveted awards were announced during a glittering black-tie dinner, which saw Graeme and Avril Stevenson of Manchester South and Central’s branch take home the ‘Franchisee of the Year 2018’ award. Molloy congratulated them, calling the pair “exactly the type of franchisees we want in our business” due to their entrepreneurial flair and exceptional commitment to growing their business.
Chairman of Franchise Brands PLC, Stephen Hemsley, congratulated Metro Rod on its incredible year and said:
“The achievements on display demonstrate how the combined efforts of hard-working and motivated franchisees and dedicated Support Centre teams, together with the investment Franchise Brands is making in the business, can produce great results”.
