We all know a few traditional cleaning ‘hacks’ that have been passed down as the best way to get your home looking like new. However, in an article for The AJC, cleaning experts including Merry Maids’ resident aficionado Debra Johnson revealed which of these traditional methods need to be binned and how you can make your home sparkle from top to bottom the right way.

Other debunked theories included putting used coffee grounds into a garbage disposal to keep it fresh, with baking soda being a more effective alternative, treating the front of fabric to remove a stain, which should actually be tackled from the back to push it away from the fabric and using microfibre mops rather than traditional string mops to keep your floors free of bacteria.
