There is only so much vegans can get from eating French fries in McDonalds, especially since they took mozzarella sticks off their menu. McDonalds has decided to give them some satisfaction by creating a vegan burger. The new meatless burger is called McVegan and it’s made of soy-based patty smothered with tomatoes, salad, pickles and vegan McFeast sauce, neatly tucked into a bun.

Great news, isn’t it? The catch is: the McVegan is being trialled in Finland for a limited time only. If the vegan McDonald lovers give the McVegan their hands-up, it will soon be rolled out globally.

When The Independent reached out to McDonald’s to find out when McVegan would make its way to the UK, they were not give an exact date. For now, the McVegan is on a month-long trial in Tampere, Finland, and if all goes well, it will soon be available in the rest of the world.

Since the burger is not sold in the UK, The Independent asked Tampere resident, Essi Saloniemi to try it on their behalf. Essi reported it was just as good but not as filling as the iconic McDonald burger and after a few hours it was entirely sold out. This may be a clear indication the McVegan will soon join the menu in other locations around the world.
