The record-breaking British summer has been good news for Marston’s as people flock to its beer gardens.
Although the hot weather is becoming a little much for some, pub franchise Marston’s has been lapping up the sunshine gratefully. The UK wide heatwave has had a fantastic effect on the company, as it pushes customers into its beer gardens and nudges profits upwards.
Thanks to the recent World Cup and the endless spell of hot weather, Marston’s has been celebrating a significant rise in expected end of year profits. The company experienced an incredible 5% profit upturn in the last 16 weeks, which could be attributed to the glorious sunny evenings and scorching summer afternoons increasing people’s thirst for one of its quality beers.
For 2018 as a whole, Marston’s has also sold 61% more beer than it did in 2017, so things are looking hot for the franchise right now. Chief Ralph Findlay commented:
“We are encouraged by our stronger trading performance in the second half-year including the benefit of recent good weather and the impact of the World Cup in our Taverns estate and in Marston’s Beer Company. We have a strong pipeline of sites which will contribute to continued growth in pubs and see further opportunity in brewing following the acquisition and successful integration of Charles Wells Brewing and Beer business in 2017.”
With over 1,500 pubs serving its own brewed lagers, beers and ales, Marston’s pubs are fantastic places to get together for a drink and a tasty bite to eat. With locations ranging from trendy city centre bars, to family pubs perfect for large get togethers, to small locals that offer a great pint, the franchise offers a flexible business model that can work for whatever kind of establishment you’ve dreamed of owning.
Marston's Pub
Marston's has perfected the art of brewing for more than 180 years and during this time, we have ensured that every drop, in every pint of our beer is perfect.
