Leisure Leagues Wiltshire franchisee celebrates one-year anniversary

Swindon’s Mr six-a-side speaks out about his franchising journey with Leisure Leagues to make his first anniversary.
Dann Webb has well and truly made his mark in the Wiltshire football community and has recently celebrated his first anniversary with Leisure Leagues. So, what better time to find out about his franchising experience?
Webb starts by saying that it was his trip to Spain that inspired him to start a franchise business. The friends he met there, as well as his fiancé, have their own online business. After observing how they work a few hours in morning and then enjoy the rest of the day inspired him to start his own business – and then he came across the Leisure Leagues franchise opportunity.
When asked how it must feel starting off with 10 teams and one league and now having 65, he responded:
“When I first took on the area, I thought it would be easy, Swindon is football mad. I got my head down and got stuck in.
“I got involved in Facebook Groups and shared content, utilised a steady flow of Facebook Ads, and message[d] people directly and I post as much as I can about the leagues that I run.”
He continued:
“I was determined to go part-time from September (I am a teacher) to support Ellie with bringing up our two young children, so getting to a level where I could afford to do that (50 teams) was really important. I achieved that when I started my fifth league at Calne in September. My goal now is to get to 100 teams and be able to leave work completely.”
The ambitious franchise owner is even considering expanding overseas and becoming a master franchise owner in another country. But firstly he is concentrating on “monopolising the best venues in this area by having multiple leagues on different nights.”
For many franchisees, one of the biggest concerns is whether their business will be successful and grow in their chosen territory and beyond. When asked why his leagues have become the place to be for football fans in Wiltshire, Webb responded:
“I have always been good at building relationships with people. I used to visit my leagues a lot in the beginning and so built a rapport with all the players. This has led to them recommending their friends and so on and so forth.
I take great pride in employing a professional approach to every league I run. I message teams to confirm attendance and put in place contingency plans if I think a team might not show up to ensure that as many games as possible go ahead as planned.”
