A Kumon franchisee is appealing for her successful alumni to share their stories to celebrate 20 years of running her franchise.
A Kumon centre on the outskirts of Bristol has launched an appeal to find the stories of its successful alumni from the last two decades.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, franchisee Sarah Nutchey and staff at the Kumon Bradley Stoke centre have reached out to its former pupils to find out how its programme impacted their lives.
Nutchey has dedicated her career to helping children through their education, first as a maths teacher and then through her Kumon branch and is keen to find out how the supplementary education programme helped former pupils to succeed in their lives. She is appealing for alumni to step forward with their inspiring stories so that they can be shared at the end of year ceremony, which is being hosted to celebrate the successes of all students, current and past, from the last 20 years.
Nutchey was presented with an award to celebrate her two decades as a Kumon instructor earlier this year at the tutoring franchise’s UK Annual Conference. She was honoured to receive the award from the President of Kumon Europe and Africa, which recognised the hard work she’s put in with hundreds of students looking to reach their academic potential.
Over the years, Nutchey’s Kumon centre has grown from a class of just 12 students to multiple classes every single week and has outgrown two locations before finding a permanent home at the Willow Brook Centre.
The education franchise was founded in 1958 by Toru Kumon to help his son improve his maths skills. Now, the company has educated more than four and a half million students worldwide and continues to expand across the globe.
