Joe and his sister, Ellie Wright, will be launching Kixx Reigate, Kixx Horsham and Kixx Oxted very soon, and the kids football coaching franchise is delighted to have them on board.

In the words of Kixx, sharing the great news in a recent blog post, “2022 is going to be a very exciting year for our Kixx franchise network with plenty of academies launching as early as March. This includes Kixx Reigate, Horsham and Oxted, all now proudly owned by professional footballer, Joe Wright and his sister, Ellie Wright. This is a partnership we are very excited about given the skills they collectively bring to #TeamOrange.”

Joe Wright is a 26-year-old professional footballer who’s made well over 150 career appearances. He “started his career with Huddersfield Town and joined Doncaster Rovers in 2016”, but as he is “currently recovering from a knee injury”, he’s had some time to think of late - and he’s decided than an investment in this ever-expanding football franchise is the perfect path to providing for his family in a new and exciting way.

Of his decision to invest with Kixx while on the mend, Joe said, “My goal right now is to get back to playing football as soon as possible. The recovery from my injury has been a long one but my rehabilitation is going great this year and I am working hard towards my return. However, as a professional athlete, when you suffer a serious injury, it can certainly make you think a lot about the future. It’s not just about me anymore, I have a family and a daughter to think about, so it’s not just my future, but theirs too.”

Joe continued, “I had several conversations with James Coppinger who owns Kixx Middlesbrough and a former Doncaster Rovers physio, who is a friend of Kixx founder, Ben Hunter. Both recommended that Kixx would be a great option to start building a business outside the professional game, still be able to play, and have a huge impact on the lives of children at the same time.”

As Joe’s day-to-day focus will still be playing football, he asked Ellie if she’d like to partner up. He feels Ellie’s skills - particularly her background in business and education - match up perfectly to his own. Ellie also spoke on the new endeavour, saying, “Becoming a Kixx franchisee is really exciting and a proud moment for us both. I can’t wait to build a business that has such incredible values, and I get to do this alongside my own brother.

Ellie continued, “I have watched and supported Joe as he has built his career in football, and whilst it isn’t our agenda to promise children a career in football, I understand the huge impact that Kixx will have [...]. Football isn’t just about kicking a ball. It can help build confidence, communication, physical and social skills, teamwork, respect, and a sense of achievement. We get to do all this at Kixx and help build a business and life for our own families. This is the start of an amazing journey, and we can’t wait to meet all the children when we open our academies in March.” Find out more about launching your own branch of Kixx via the franchise’s profile page, which you’ll discover linked above.
