Jo Jingles brought together residents of a nursing home and school children for an enjoyable session.

Jo Jingles has been bringing the elderly and the young together for a fun musical session that had endless benefits to both groups.

Pupils from the Hollybank Primary and Pre-School in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, had a brilliant day out at local Woodgreen residential home. The residents and children took part in lots of fun activities, one of which was hosted by Jo Jingles.

The recreation franchise got everyone involved in a fun musical session, that taught the young children valuable movement, vocal and co-ordination skills. For the home’s residents, it was a fantastic change to their daily routine that allowed them to interact with the cheeky children and have lots of fun taking part in the Jo Jingles session with them.

A spokesperson for Hollybank said:

“The staff and pupils are most excited to have developed a budding friendship with Woodgreen Nursing Home. This has involved developing key relationships between students and residents through a shared Jo Jingles session.”

Explaining how the Jo Jingles session benefitted both parties, they continued:

“The programme is intended to provide not only vital social interaction for all, but also the opportunity for pupils to improve their self-management, group work skills and self-confidence. It is hoped that with further events planned that this programme will benefit the health, learning and mutual understanding of all participants.”

With more than 23 years’ experience running its fun and educational music classes, Jo Jingles offers an enjoyable and safe way for children to work on their musicality, balance and coordination, language and social skills. The franchise has more than 700 centres across the UK run by its dedicated franchisees and is constantly seeking new, ambitious individuals to open centres in new locations.
