Leading home care provider Walfinch has launched its first initiative under its new slogan, Time to Thrive. The Wellness With Walfinch campaign aims to promote greater activity and mobility among its home care clients, their families, carers, and local communities.
“Care should be about thriving, not just surviving,” says Walfinch founder and Chief Executive, Amrit Dhaliwal. “Our rallying cry, ‘Time to Thrive,’ reflects our belief that good care is all about improving lives.”
Activities to Support Well-being
As part of the campaign, Walfinch franchisees across the UK are rolling out ‘thrive sessions’ designed to benefit clients, their families, and the wider community. These sessions will include free live and online activities such as flower arranging and access to expert wellness advice from medical professionals and fitness specialists.
One highlight is an exclusive collaboration with fitness expert Chris Zaremba, who specialises in fitness for those over 50. Walfinch is also launching a Wellness With Walfinch YouTube series featuring tailored exercise routines led by Amrit Dhaliwal and other professionals, making it easy for viewers to join in from home.
Many Walfinch offices already offer activities such as chair yoga, dance classes, home physiotherapy sessions, and keep-fit programmes. These will now be expanded nationwide, ensuring even more clients can access opportunities to stay active.
“Our carers are committed to encouraging physical activity during visits lasting an hour or more,” says Amrit. “This isn’t about hitting the gym or taking up jogging. It could be as simple as walking the dog, tending the garden, or playing a game of outdoor chess—whatever suits the client best.
It all starts with understanding a client’s personal goals. For some, that might mean building the mobility to attend a family wedding or meeting friends for coffee. The focus is on helping them achieve independence in their own way.
Redefining the Role of Home Care
Amrit acknowledges that traditional views of home care often show a carer tending to a seated client, which, while compassionate, can unintentionally limit long-term well-being. “True care is about empowering clients to become more active and independent over time,” she explains.
The benefits of this approach are well-supported. According to the World Health Organisation, regular physical activity helps prevent and manage conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and even some cancers. It also boosts mental health. Yet, one in three adults remain insufficiently active, and sedentary behaviour, like sitting for prolonged periods, is linked to a decline in overall well-being and quality of life.
Thriving Together
Walfinch’s Time to Thrive slogan isn’t just about clients—it’s a vision for the whole organisation. Franchisees are encouraged to grow strong, financially sustainable businesses, while carers are supported in building rewarding careers.
Underpinning this vision are three core values: - Possibility – Recognising and unlocking potential. - Progress – Continuously striving for improvement. - Perseverance – Remaining determined because the rewards are worth it.
The brand’s fresh new look complements its philosophy. Walfinch has adopted a vibrant red as its corporate colour, symbolising warmth and positivity. Its updated logo features a finch in flight, representing movement, freedom, and the spirit of thriving.
For clients, carers, franchisees, and communities alike, the message is clear: it’s time to thrive.
