The quick-service restaurant franchise business expands order-ahead and delivery offerings to reach customers who rather enjoy Hooters experience and food from the comforts of their homes.
According to Fortune news, Hooters order-ahead and delivery expansion offerings are meant to cater to customers who might not be willing to visit one of the quick-service restaurant chains famous for its tantalizing and scantily attired waitresses. Hooter’s chief executive, Terry Marks said at the ICR conference: “Many people wouldn’t step foot in our restaurants, but they want our product. Delivery [solves] the polarizing issue the brand has had.”
Hooter’s new and improved order-ahead and delivery service allows customers to order online to any of their 96 restaurants, with quick delivery through Uber Eats. Launched in 2014, Uber Eats has reached $3 billion in gross sales mark for 2017 and currently operates in 29 countries worldwide. Uber Eats has 2 million drivers worldwide and benefits from a unique delivery infrastructure where any given available Uber driver is accessed anytime and anywhere for deliveries serviced by Uber Eats. With its built-in delivery fleet, the company garners the benefits from Uber Eats that brings 8 to 10 % of total ride bookings.
Uber is currently up against stiff competition with other companies offering online food delivery business. These are the likes of well-established player Grubhub and Amazon who launched Amazon Restaurants two years ago and even Facebook who recently announced a new ‘Order Food’ function in its app. In 2017, Amazon and Olo announced a retail partnership that would extend diners more order take-out and meal delivery offerings online where Amazon Prime members will be able to order food online via the Amazon Restaurants platform. Restaurants already using Olo to power their digital food delivery will gain more visibility.
