A local Home Instead franchise will be participating in a sponsored walk to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Home Instead Senior Care is on a mission to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association as it launches a fundraising campaign ahead of a charity walk.
The home care provider’s Manassas, Virginia franchise is aiming to raise as much money as possible when its staff participate in the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which is hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association.
The event sees 400,000 people come together in over 600 locations across America to raise money and awareness of the life-ending illness that blights so many families. It’s open to people of all ages and the fun day aims to fund ground-breaking research that hopes to find a cure as soon as possible.
Home Instead Manassas has a modest fundraising goal of $2,500, but hopes that it can encourage the local community to donate generously to support its staff as they participate. The franchise explained that it’s motivated to take part in the event by a desire to see the end of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in the near future. It added that, as part of its commitment to enhancing and improving the lives of the elderly people it provides care for, it must also work hard to raise awareness of the issues they face.
With more than 200 offices across the UK alone, Home Instead is one of the leading providers of home care for the elderly. Founded from a personal desire to ensure the elderly were able to access great care from the comfort of their own homes, it’s committed to providing a service that maintains the dignity and independence of its clients at all times.
