Heritage Healthcare unit wins health care team award

Heritage Healthcare North East has been named Health Care Team of the Year.

The home care franchise branch, which is based in Middlesbrough, won the award at the Northern Echo Health Care Awards 2021. Presenter Kate Walby hosted the event, which took place virtually on Thursday 25th March.

During the ceremony, 14 care providers from across the region claimed awards in various categories, from Nurse of the Year to Health Care Employer of the Year. The event aimed to shine a light on the selfless frontline workers who have supported those in need throughout the pandemic.

Heritage Healthcare’s Registered Care Manager, Lisa Glass, said,

“I am so proud of the Heritage Healthcare North East team. They have always worked hard to support care to service users, not just over this past year during the pandemic.”

She explained how carers in the region had managed to avoid many of the challenges brought by the virus:

“Due to exceptional infection control maintained by our staff, we have experienced minimal impact of Covid-19 with our service users and staff members. There have been very few disruptions to our service, and we have been able to continue to deliver care packages to our current clients and welcome new individuals.”
