In an exclusive interview for Advertiser, Five Guys, the deliciously famous American burger joint, announced they will be soon opening a new restaurant in Croydon. Last January it was reported Five Guys were planning to convert the former Yate’s pub in the High Street into a 209-seater restaurant. During an interview with Advertiser, Five Guys revealed the new restaurant in Croydon is scheduled to open sometime in September.
Five Guys UK CEO, John Eckbert said the new restaurant will generate 42 new jobs in the Croydon area and added: “We are excited to be coming to Croydon High Street in September this year. We're gearing up to serve our fresh, handmade and fully customisable burgers, hotdogs and milkshakes. "The new location will create 42 new local jobs, seat 209 people, and will hopefully be the perfect place to Croydon residents to sit back, relax and enjoy a great quality meal."
The locale previously known as Yate’s Pub received the councils’ approval for ‘an appropriate and sympathetic refurbishment to the shop front.” The new eatery will be the chain’s 15th location in London, with 13 across the capital and another eatery soon to open in Kensington. Croydon’s new Five Guys is the fifth eatery to open south of the Rivera Thames after Wimbledon, Putney, Greenwich and Kingston Upon Thames.
