FiltaFry has been named as one of the most eco-friendly franchises in Germany in a special ceremony.
FiltaFry was one of just three companies recognised for its commitment to sustainability at an influential German awards ceremony.
Hosted by the highly respected German Franchise Association, the Green Franchise Awards honoured franchises who are putting eco-friendly practice high on their priority list. FiltaFry was one of just three companies to receive the award, which is testament to the strength of its commitment to sustainability.
Despite being a relatively new franchise within the German market, FiltaFry made a fantastic impression on the Green Franchise Awards ten-member jury, which had the final say on which companies received recognition.
Torben Leif Broderson, MD of the German Franchise Association, said:
“Both the individual services of FiltaFry - still very new to the German market – as well as the results it achieved in terms of sustainability for its customers in the restaurant and catering industry convinced our ten-member jury, comprised of franchise and sustainability specialists. Its development so far as a ‘green’ franchisor with specific options and opportunities for franchise partners also contributed to our decision.”

FiltaFry’s innovative methods of fryer cleaning and micro-oil filtration reduce waste by up to 50 percent, saving both money and the environmental impact associated with higher levels of oil production. Since it was founded in the UK in 1996, FiltaFry has expanded its unique, van-based franchise concept to countries all across the world.
Commenting on the fantastic achievement, FiltaFry Germany’s Managing Director, Jos van Aalst, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to count among the ‘greenest’ franchise companies in the German-speaking market through our commitment to the conscious use of resources in the restaurant and catering trade. It is a wonderful acknowledgment of our franchise partners’ daily effort to protect the environment and combat the waste of resources.”
