Fastsigns’ Hammersmith branch won the 2021 Retail/Wholesale Business of the Year prize at the West London Business Awards.
After a challenging 12 months of lockdowns, operational changes and emotional turmoil, the team at Fastsigns Hammersmith were excited to be recognised with the business prize.
The West London Business Awards aims to celebrate companies demonstrating talent, resilience and success in the UK’s capital.
John Davies, the signage franchise’s UK Managing Director, said, "This award is a real testament to the efforts of each and every member of the Hammersmith team.
“It goes without saying that last year marked a particularly turbulent year for the world of signage and visual communications, with the whole industry challenged to adapt and evolve quickly, whether that was switching to providing support for businesses with their safety and wayfinding messaging in the wake of Covid-19, or giving businesses the best chance of survival by supporting them on rebrand projects."
Simon Slee, who owns Fastsigns’ Hammersmith branch, has seen a spike in demand as businesses have reopened this month. On the 12th April, when non-essential retailers and restaurants were able to welcome customers again, Simon said, the “phone hadn’t stopped ringing.”
He added, “It’s a flat-out day. We’ve been preparing for the reopening with additional signage and all sorts of other things such as screens.
“Throughout the pandemic and lockdowns, our centre was able to remain operational, even though we were not able to receive visitors and the team were quick to adapt, ensuring they worked together - despite working remotely in some cases - adhered to government safety guidance and continued to deliver a variety of high-quality signage solutions for all our customers.”
Fastsigns has been able to continue operating as an essential business during the pandemic, providing Covid-19-related graphics to businesses across the UK.
