Fastsigns franchisees in Washington DC have been named the winners of The Fastsigns Award.

During a ceremony at the 2021 Virtual Fastsigns/Signwave International Convention, franchisees Dana and Howard James were announced as the winners of the company’s most prestigious prize. Taking into account all the franchisees across the network of 750 branches in nine countries, it recognises the achievements of the business owners who deliver the highest quality service.

Howard said,

"We are honored to be named the recipients of The Fastsigns Award. It's a wonderful thing to be acknowledged by your peers as someone in the community that contributes to the system as a whole and is appreciated. We are so thankful to be a part of the supportive Fastsigns network and see the growth that comes from investing in an incredible brand like Fastsigns."

Howard first bought the Fastsigns branch with his wife Dana back in 2007. He had previously spent 17 years working as a theatre production professor at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and spent time as an art teacher and freelance graphic designer.

Now, the pair run a successful sign franchise unit with 10 team members. Howard said,

"Solutions are behind what we do. Whatever our clients need, we are going to figure it out.”

Howard has also mentored new franchisees and completed several business development programmes, including Goldman Sachs 10KSB and Inner City Capital Connections. Both Howard and the franchise unit have received various prizes over the years.

Catherine Monson, Fastsigns’ CEO, said,

"Howard and Dana James are a wonderful asset to our brand. As dedicated franchise owners, they deserve the ultimate in recognition. They represent our brand with excellence and enthusiasm, and they are fully committed to helping other franchisees do the same."
