Fastsigns MD announces major UK expansion plans

As Fastsigns celebrates the first successful year in operation of two of its signage franchises in the UK – Oxford North and Bolton branches, the International brand’s MD, John Davies, lays out his plans for expansion which include future franchise opportunities across the country, co-branding, merging or the buying out of pre-existing companies. “Printers can build their businesses to a certain level but many find that once they reach that point they can’t break through the ceiling,” says Davies. “We can offer that opportunity to them because digital signage is a massive area for growth, as has been proven in the US. Following the success of our recent expansions we are looking to move into other areas of the UK. We have our sights on the South West, including Bristol, as we have few branches in that region. We have nothing so far in Scotland which makes it fertile ground for us too, as well as East Anglia.”
The expansion efforts are underway with a new Zund CNC table router and flatbed printer for the Oxford North franchisee and equipment updates, the recruitment of new staff and training for current employees scheduled for the Bolton branch. Two new sales staff members have recently joined the Bolton branch and plans to hire a certified printmaker and apprentice is scheduled for both Oxford North and Bolton branches.
The Bolton branch has secured several large-scale projects in the leisure, engineering and education sectors which has generated an influx of interest from both customers and potential new partners. Preferenital rates from suppliers is one of the many benefits of becoming a Fastsigns franchisee – a perk that helped Oxford North purchase its new Zund machine.
Fastsigns was founded in Texas, US and the international brand operates by franchising other business centres and runs 660 Fastsigns centres around the world, including in the UK, US, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Australia.
