Lateo Boutique’s newest opening will be co-owned by an ambitious ex-soldier seeking a new career path.

Lateo Boutique has opened in the South Shore area of Blackpool and co-owner Gary Edwards hopes that it will bring lots of people to the area.

Edwards, a 35 year old ex-soldier from the area who has completed tours of Afghanistan, has become a franchisee of the drinks franchise. After leaving the armed forces, he sought a new career challenge and found Lateo Boutique. He said that the idea to bring the bar to his home area of South Shore was motivated by the improvements that have been made to the previous struggling area recently.

“The Highfield Road area has been improving for some time now and it is less tourist-focused as well. I think it can be very much similar to Poulton and the bar complements the other businesses nearby, such as San Marcos and Italio.”

He explained how the bar will focus on the quality of the drinks, offering an incredible 60 different types and flavours of gin and rare beverages that are hard to find anywhere else. Edwards is keen for his branch of Lateo not to just be ‘another bar’ where people get drunk.

“Some of the champagne and wines are not available in shops, and the cocktails are going down a storm thanks to our mixologist Mario.”

Speaking about the bar’s future, Edwards said that he hopes to take on even more staff to expand and also to introduce a tasty food menu in the new year. The bar turns into a café during the day, offering people in the area a chance to have a brand new place to meet friends and family.

To celebrate the opening, the branch is offering free hot drinks to all emergency services workers in the area.
