Esquires Coffee opens in Manchester

Manchester city centre has got a new Esquires Coffee shop.

Known for its ethical vision, Esquires Coffee brings community spirit to the mass market, and Manchester is the latest city to benefit from its virtuous hot drinks and sweet treats. The central coffee shop is located on Whitworth Street, between Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations on the edge of the Village and by Manchester University campus.

At the grand opening, guests were able to taste some of the Esquires Coffee’s best loved seasonal food, including smashed avocado with chilli, lemon, rocket and tomato and freshly homemade pizza. There was also the chance to enjoy 50% off hot food for part of the day.

As an ethical coffee shop, Esquires Coffee focuses on sustainability and uses local produce or gets its ingredients from independently-run suppliers. Its sausages, bacon and beef come from the oldest farm on the Dutchy of Lancaster Estate, and its free-range chicken comes from Holker Estates in Cartmel, the Lake District. The fruit and veg mostly comes from local New Smithy Market.

Sonya Peacock, Operations Director of Esquires Coffee Manchester says, “our shop is much more than a coffee house, it’s a cool and quirky environment, filled with communal tables and cosy seating, making it the perfect location to relax, study, catch up with friends or work.” It’s clear that Esquires Coffee has a big vision of becoming a gathering place for the community.

Customers can look forward to eating classic coffee shop sandwiches, a range of cakes and healthy, vegan and vegetarian meals. They can eat them in or take them away in fully compostable boxes. All of the coffee and teas are Fairtrade, and the coffee is organic too.

This new store is the 36th Esquires Coffee to open in the UK since the first one opened its doors in 1993. It is the leading ethical coffee franchise and the brand has its sights on opening 580 stores around the world. The brand welcomes franchisees that are passionate about its sustainable and ethical values and want to establish an independent coffee shop that involves the community.
