Driver Hire bagged the night’s top honour at the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards 2019 for the strength of its business model.

Driver Hire walked away from this year’s bfa HSBC Franchise Awards with the top franchisor honor, the Gold Award in the Franchisor of the Year category. To make things even sweeter, this year marked the second occasion that the franchise has taken home the evening’s most prestigious award.

Driver Hire is the leading transport and logistics franchise and has cemented its position at the top thanks to its dedicated work force. More than 94% of its employees said in a recent survey that they were proud to work for Driver Hire and an incredible 96% of the franchise’s customers rated it as good or excellent.

The judges of the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards recognised the company’s consistent excellence in franchising throughout its 30 year history, and praised the business franchise for its “enviable training programme and onboarding process, as well as committing £3 million in technology in just three years to help the network thrive.”

There was even more reason to celebrate, as Driver Hire wasn’t just recognised for the strength of its business model. Uxbridge franchisee Ed Pockney collected the bfa HSBC 2019 Franchisee of the Year award in the Business Transformation category.

Ed has grown his franchise over the years to become one of Driver Hire’s leading locations. His dedication and commitment to growing his business has seen Ed increase his turnover six-fold in less than five years. He’s now one of Driver Hire’s top 20 franchisees.

Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director, expressed the franchise’s delight at the successful evening.

“We are delighted at this double endorsement of Driver Hire as one of the very best franchises to invest in. We continue to be an industry leader both in terms of franchise support and financial rewards - with average annual franchisee turnover of £1.2m and average net profits of £140,000. The results of our franchisees demonstrate that the Driver Hire model, combined with their own ambition, dedication and hard work is a proven recipe for success.”
