Countrywide Signs shares success story

Countrywide Signs has shared one of its fantastic success stories to encourage new entrepreneurs to become part of its successful network.
Williams decided to become a Countrywide Signs franchisee more than 14 years ago. He explained what motivated him to become part of the network.
“One of the reasons I chose the franchise was because of the nationwide network of franchisees. I consulted several before I decided to buy the Merseyside area franchise and the network has been invaluable ever since.”
He made sure to speak to existing franchisees before investing and, after hearing nothing but positive feedback, quickly felt reassured he had made the right decision to join the sign franchise. He explained:
“[The franchisees] explained that whether you operated the franchise alone or expanded into a multi-van operation, you got out what you put in. Speaking to existing franchisees helps you find out how easy it is to set up and increases your understanding of the local market and competition, so it helps you make the investment decision.”
Now, Williams has grown his business into a multi-van operation that covers Liverpool, Southport and Warrington together with co-franchisee Robert Carter. He revealed how the franchise network has proved invaluable over the years.
“Other franchisees can offer advice based on their experience with all kinds of issues, from different ways to attach For Sale and To Let boards to properties, to safe and efficient ways to mount bigger commercial boards. Tapping into their expertise can save you time and effort.”
Williams also revealed how the franchise network help each other, from covering sickness for each other to generating business for their peers when estate agencies require services beyond just one franchisee’s territory.
Williams is a member of the Countrywide Sign’s Franchisee Steering Group, which is a forum for franchisees to discuss ideas and issues within the network.
Director of the franchise, Justin Pearce, explained why he decided to set up the group.
“It offers an efficient way to maintain communication between head office and the franchisees. It flags up areas of concern to both, but also highlights what we are doing well. It's a win-win for head office and the franchisee network.”
Williams concluded by saying:
“If you are looking for a franchise, prioritise those like Countrywide Signs with an active franchisee network, and make use of it. The network can be one of keys to your business success.”
