Countrywide Grounds Maintenance has grown its workforce in the South Wales area by more than a quarter.

Landscaping franchise Countrywide Grounds Maintenance is celebrating the growth of its South Wales workforce, thanks to recent lucrative contract wins across the region.

The leading grounds maintenance company now has more than 3000 sites to maintain across the country, with many of them in the South Wales area. To ensure it’s able to continually provide the exceptional grounds maintenance service it’s known for, which include grass cutting, shrubbery maintenance, landscaping and gutter clearance, Countrywide’s South Wales location has just recruited its 80th employee.

Based in Port Talbot, the franchised branch has 25 skilled teams operating across six different locations. Countrywide South Wales’ clients include businesses in the healthcare, educations, utilities, retail and housing sectors, showing its services are diverse and suitable for everyone.

The branch is a key supporter of its local communities and helps to improve the local environment with regular clean-up days, which collect litter and plastic that are polluting green spaces.

Regional managers of Countrywide South Wales, Ian Michael and Richard Ball said:

“When we started the business over 22 years ago, we never imagined growing to the size we are today – hiring our 80th employee and looking after 3,000+ sites. Our employees are our most important asset, so it is essential to invest in their development to not only ensure longer tenure, but to create a positive work environment and culture.”

They continued:

“We pride ourselves on being a local business and being able to provide a boost to the local economy, as well as minimising our carbon footprint and limiting both transport costs and downtime. The future is really exciting we are looking forward to continuing to deliver safe, well-maintained and attractive environments for our clients.”
