Coffee Blue has joined 13 other companies in Wales as a winner of the Silver ERS Award 2020.
The coffee van franchise was recognised by the Ministry of Defence for its commitment to offering opportunities to members of the Armed Forces community. Under the national Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, employers across the country dedicate time to supporting military personnel and encourage everyone within their network to do the same.
In order to pick up the coveted Silver Award, Coffee Blue had to show it was doing everything it could to avoid putting Armed Forces members at a disadvantage in its recruitment process. It also needed to show that its franchisees and staff members were fully aware of its positive policies towards military personnel and their families.
Audrey Nealon, Regional Employer Engagement Director for Wales, said:
“I am delighted that we can announce 13 Silver ERS 2020 award winners for Wales. I know all of these organisations have worked hard to support Defence objectives and they are all very worthy winners.”
She continued:
“These employers provide inspiration for others to follow in their footsteps. We’re delighted to see Welsh workplaces become more creative and flexible in their methods to support the Armed Forces. The strength of the ERS continues to grow and we warmly welcome new employers who wish to take their first step and pledge their support.”
2020 is the seventh year of this awards scheme and Coffee Blue will continue doing all it can to achieve recognition again next year. Potentially, it could even achieve the prestigious Gold award and take its efforts to the next level.
