Coffee Blue workers have revealed how they’ve been supporting key workers in their local communities.

When the coffee van franchise announced its new delivery scheme several weeks ago, its team of hardworking franchisees started taking its products straight to customers in their homes. Since then, Coffee Blue has also handed out complimentary drinks to NHS workers. But now, many franchisees have gone a step further.

Gareth Rosser, owner of Coffee Blue’s Bristol North branch had planned to launch his business in late March. When the COVID-19 crisis forced him to delay the site opening, he realised he could use his time to support local heroes. Every day, he’s been providing a round of coffees to his local police force. Rosser said:

“Coffee Blue Bristol didn’t want to simply sit around and wait for restrictions to be lifted. Instead, we decided to support our local police constabulary with a complimentary daily supply of fresh coffee.

“A family member of mine works for Avon and Somerset Police force. We arranged for the order and collection of a number of lattes and flat whites to keep them going during these unprecedented times. Coffee Blue Bristol would like to express our gratitude to all of those working on the frontline, keeping everyone safe and well during these times.”

The franchise’s Caerphilly van has also been distributing free coffees. Franchisee Gareth has offered his range of delicious drinks and snacks to pharmacy staff and nurses in the region. He explained:

“When Gareth and Martin from Coffee Blue HQ mentioned the idea, I thought it was the least we could do. Why did I want to get involved? Well, we are all in this together. Seeing the sacrifice they are making for us and how busy they are, it was nice to give something back.”

Meanwhile, Jon from Coffee Blue Aberdare has been helping out vulnerable local residents and supermarket staff. With the aim of supporting those who can’t access the items they need, he distributed essentials and tasty snack packs to people at home. Jon commented:

“I thought: ‘I’ve got a temperature-controlled van sitting on the drive, I have access to essential grocery products that I can buy at cost from booker which enabled me to deliver to the vulnerable and those self-isolating without applying a premium or even a delivery charge!’”
