Cheshire Marston’s Pub Gets Huge Overhaul

After a VIP refurbishment costing over £100,000, The Crown Inn in Goostrey has reopened its doors. And the local residents couldn’t be happier.

The Crown Inn in Goostrey was ready from some TLC, so Marston’s invested over £100,000 into the pub, giving it a chance to transform its outlook.

Having just reopened its doors after a major renovation, the new pub is ready to welcome visitors once again. The new look is more than a fresh lick of paint and new carpets. It has enabled the pub to completely re-evaluate its positioning to make sure it offers exactly what the local residents of Goostrey want from their pub.

Along with the refurbishment, the Crown Inn has introduced a dog-friendly policy in the bar area, which is separate from the restaurant. It encourages more residents to come and enjoy a social drink without having to worry about their furry friend. There is also a new menu, including a bar menu offering with classic pub food, that people can enjoy in the relaxing restaurant and lounge area. These new changes give the Crown Inn a community feel and make it easier for residents to enjoy either a meal out, a drink or both.

To carry out all the refurbishments, the Crown Inn closed its doors for just under a month. To keep the community happy during this time, the pub set up a pop-up bar at the local Scout Hut. All profits went to the scout club to help with the upkeep of the building.

The Crown Inn is a Marston’s pub, serving beers from its brewery in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Area operations manager for Marston’s, Ioan Eyton Jones, commented on the new refurbishment, “we’re extremely excited for the Crown Inn. This new refresh has breathed a new lease of life into the pub for our customers, and we are looking forward to the next chapter here”.

As a Marston’s pub, the Crown Inn is part of a 180-year-old franchise. The group is listed on the FTSE 250 Index and employs over 13,000 people.
