The force behind Century 21 UK has shared one its latest success stories to inspire others into franchising.

SDL Property Partners has released the story of Sam Kamara, who has managed to make his journey into franchising a success. After gaining over 15 years’ experience in the property industry, Kamara grew more ambitious and decided to become his own boss with the franchise.

However, many of the challenges of establishing his branch proved to be difficult to work through, including not letting setbacks detract from his goal. He also overcame a lifelong aversion to networking in order to build up a strong web of contacts. Kamara credits SDL with helping him to establish himself. He says: “The scheme [SDL Property Partners] has helped me massively, in all kinds of different ways, from the structured support to the different insights and advice from professional mentors. The support from the scheme has given me the confidence to branch out and reach out to the contacts I’ve made over the past 15 years and start having those conversations to build relationships and get my name out there amongst professionals in the market.”

Century 21 is one of the world’s largest residential estate agencies, with more than 8000 independently owned franchised broker offices across more than 81 countries globally. Its UK operation is driven by the SDL Group, which has powered it forward to rapid growth and expansion. Now, franchisees such as Kamara can experience the success that’s possible when choosing the right franchise.

In just his first year of business, Kamara has already secured two lucrative management instructions in central London and hopes that with the help of SDL Property Partners he’ll be able to continue his success. “Securing those instructions really gave me that buzz and thirst to keep pushing through with the business, despite with challenges that can arise along the way.”

Kamara’s had an incredible start to his franchising journey and aims to keep getting his name out through his newly-made connections. His advice for those hoping to follow in his footsteps? “Be prepared. It might seem like the simplest piece of advice, but it’s so important! Get an understanding of the industry and conduct research before making any decisions, it may seem time-consuming, but the end results will make such an impression on your brand within the market which makes it will all worth it.”
