Camile Thai reveals ghost kitchen plans

Camile Thai has partnered with REEF to set up ghost kitchens and further expand into the delivery sector.

The restaurant franchise will launch a REEF Neighbourhood Kitchen in Canary Wharf, one of several planned for the UK. The new location will help urban consumers access Camile Thai’s range of menu options via popular delivery service providers.

Jonathan Dockrell, the business’s UK General Manager, explained,

“Camile is embracing ghost kitchen opportunities to expand its reach beyond traditional brick-and-mortar restaurants in every neighbourhood across London. By partnering with companies like REEF, we can bring Camile into denser, urban areas without the overhead of operating a traditional restaurant space.”

REEF is a US-based company, and has already helped businesses launch ghost kitchens in locations across Europe, as part of its mission to bring people closer to restaurants. It’s turned more than 4,500 car parks and garages into Neighbourhood Hubs, establishing a global real estate network to connect locally sourced goods, services and experiences.

Joining REEF is just one of the changes Camile Thai has introduced recently. Last month, it announced its new contact-free tipping process, in collaboration with Irish start-up Strike, which has created a patent-pending cashless payment option. The restaurant franchise hopes to roll out this new tipping solution across the UK and Ireland in the coming months, in order to allow customers to tip drivers safely after deliveries.
