Café Rouge hosts children’s afternoon tea

Café Rouge let children experience a fun afternoon tea this half term with its just-for-kids offering.

With afternoon tea growing in popularity across the UK, Café Rouge has decided to launch its own version of the tasty activity just for little ones.

Available from the 22nd of October for a limited time, the restaurant franchise is letting kids enjoy the tradition of afternoon tea by offering a mini-version of its best-selling sweet and savoury treats. Children aged between six and twelve will be able to tuck into the smaller version of a classic afternoon tea, with beignets (mini French-style doughnuts) and fresh fruit, croque monsieur and mini Toulouse sausages just some of the tasty items on the menu. A vegetarian version of the tea is also available, which will feature spicy harissa hummus and a mushroom version of the croque monsieur.

Chief Customer Office at Café Rouge, Celia Pronto, said that the franchise wanted to launch a version of the traditional activity that everyone could enjoy.

"Far from being a prim and proper tradition, afternoon tea is now a lovely opportunity for families and friends to enjoy quality time together at a time of day that fits in with playdates and bedtimes too – and we’re pleased that Brits see Café Rouge as the place to go for an afternoon treat, now for both adults and children."

And with a tasty version for adults on offer too, which contains a variety of fruity and chocolatey sweet treats as well as traditional scones and optional Prosecco, families will be able to enjoy afternoon tea together at Café Rouge.
