Café Rouge goes vegan (in part)

Café Rouge adds vegan options to its UK menu due to popular demand.
Café Rouge is the latest restaurant to announce a brand-new inclusive plant-based menu, allowing those who avoid meat, fish, dairy and eggs to dine in its 90 UK restaurants. The French restaurant chain will add a wide range of tasty bites to its previously meat and dairy heavy menu, showing it’s yet another place for vegans to visit to enjoy delicious food.
The exciting vegan dishes on offer include a set menu specifically for plant-based diners offering three courses to tempt the appetite. They’ll be able to choose a Moroccan-inspired ‘soup de saison’ packed with sweet potato, apricots and dates to start, creamy mushroom, spelt and pearly barley risotto with parsley, watercress and decadent truffle oil for the main course and either apple and blackberry cinnamon crumble or dairy-free crème anglaise.
The à la carte menu also has tempting new vegan dishes to try, including a root vegetable and chestnut parmentier, seasonal salad, a vegan chickpea burger and a balsamic-glazed beetroot tatin.
Although French cuisine typically contains a lot of meat, butter and cheese, the introduction of a vegan range by the restaurant franchise shows that every nation’s style of cooking can be enjoyed through tasty plant-based options.
Launched in 1989, Café Rouge is one of the most popular French casual dining franchises in the UK. Offering delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as special occasion treats such as a delectable afternoon tea for two, it’s the perfect foodie location no matter what time of day.
