Backed by a HSBC investment, BoConcept has opened a new store in Bristol.

Modern furniture brand, BoConcept, is bringing the clean lines and soft curves of Danish design to homes and business across Bristol and the South West with the opening of a new store. In central Bristol, the new store will help the brand to establish roots in this part of the UK.

Opened by Brett Simpson, who has more than 25 years of retail experience, this store is independently owned and employs six people.

To establish the business, Simpson used six figure funding from HSBC. It enabled him to buy the franchise itself, the stock and to refurbish the store ready to open. Spread over two floors, the store has 3,000 sq ft of space to showcase its products. It is the 17th BoConcept store to open in the UK.

Speaking of his new venture, he said, “I am delighted to have opened a brand-new BoConcept store in the heart of Bristol with the support of HSBC… We enjoyed welcoming our first customers through the door and look forward to delivering a first-class design and installation service to them and others in years to come”.

Not only will the new store sell furniture and homewares for homes and offices, it also offers an interior design and installation service. Customers can come to BoConcept for advice on how best to decorate rooms and arrange furniture to create the environment they would like.

Sarah Lucas, HSBC’s area director for Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire who helped Simpson to get the funding he needed commented, “Brett approached HSBC with a clear vision for his new BoConcept store and a business plan which fully supported his ideas. We are pleased to have been given the opportunity by Brett to draw on our extensive retail experience and put this structured and competitive funding package in place”.

BoConcept opened its first store in Paris in 1993 and now has more than 265 stores around the world. It is a Danish brand, sold in 65 countries. Franchisees benefit from a profitable business model with a proven track record and an award-winning concept to promote.
