Bluebird Care encourages better self-care

Bluebird Care has been encouraging its clients to do all that they can to keep their health in good shape.
A local Bluebird care franchise showed its support for Self Care week earlier this month, which aims to help people of all ages look after themselves better to prevent avoidable illness and suffering.
The week, which ran from the 12th to the 18th of November, was organised by the Self Care Forum, a UK organisation formed in 2011 that encourages people to take better care of themselves and shares ways to ensure you’re living well. It was set up to try and help people look after their own health to reduce strain on local health services and to make sure that even into their old age people continue to live well.
Bluebird Care Merton was one of the care organisations backing the annual awareness week, as many of its elderly and disabled customers struggle to look after themselves properly. In addition to the expert care it provides, the care franchise got involved with Self Care week to promote the little things everyone can do in their daily lives to make them feel better, such as staying hydrated, eating well and keeping as active as possible.
Since it was founded in 2004, Bluebird Care has grown into one of the UK’s largest providers of homecare services.
Jay Patel, Director of Bluebird Care Merton, explained why he felt it was important to promote self care to his clients:
“We are delighted to be supporting Self Care Week and we are encouraging our local community to keep fit and healthy. By empowering and engaging individuals to take good care of themselves, we hope to increase understanding of self care in our local area, as well as ease pressures on our local health services.”
